What the Verified badge means on MassageHub

A blue Verified badge means a MassageHub moderator has matched a private selfie to the photos on the therapist's profile. It confirms that the person in the pictures is real and is the person behind the listing — nothing more, and nothing less.

How photo verification works

    The therapist writes a note

    By hand: "MassageHub", their listing name and today’s date.

    Takes a selfie holding it

    Face and note clearly visible. The photo is uploaded from the dashboard straight into a private store — it never appears on the site.

    A moderator compares

    Selfie against the profile photos. Match → blue badge on the profile and on every listing card. No match → declined, with the reason sent to the therapist.

What the badge confirms — and what it does not

The badge confirms

  • A real person

    Someone exists behind the profile and took a fresh selfie holding a handwritten MassageHub note with their name and the date.

  • The profile photos are theirs

    A moderator compared the selfie with the pictures on the profile and judged them to be the same person. Light retouching is fine; entirely different photos are not.

  • Checked by a human

    No automated face-matching — every request is reviewed by our moderation team and can be revoked if photos later change.

The badge does not confirm

  • Identity documents

    We do not check passports, driving licences or any official ID, so the badge does not confirm a legal name or age.

  • Qualifications or training

    Massage is not a regulated profession in the UK. Certificates, courses and professional-body membership are stated by the therapist, not verified by us.

  • Service quality or conduct

    The badge says nothing about how good a session will be. Read the reviews and the profile, and message the therapist before you book.

Every listing on MassageHub — verified or not — is moderated by our team before and after it goes live, and profiles that break our terms are removed. Verification is an extra, optional step a therapist can take; it is not a licence and not an endorsement.

What happens to the selfie

  • It is never displayed on the site, in search or on the profile.
  • It is stored in a private bucket that only moderators can open, via a link that expires within the hour.
  • Withdrawing the request from the dashboard deletes it; a therapist can also ask us to delete it at any time at hello@massagehub.uk.

Questions about verification

Is "Verified" the same as an ID check?

No. Verification on MassageHub is a photo check: a moderator confirms that the person in the profile photos is the person who sent the selfie. We do not inspect identity documents, so the badge does not confirm a legal name, age or address.

Can a verified profile still be misleading?

The badge rules out the most common problem — profile photos belonging to someone else — but it cannot vouch for prices, services or manner. Treat it as one signal alongside reviews, a detailed description and a quick message before booking.

Do you check qualifications or licences?

No. Training and certificates are described by each therapist on their own profile. If a qualification matters to you, ask to see it — reputable therapists are used to the question.

How long does verification take?

Requests are reviewed by a person, usually within a day or two of upload. The therapist sees the status in their dashboard and receives an email when the badge is granted or the request is declined.

Is the selfie ever shown publicly?

Never. It is stored in a private bucket that only our moderators can open, through a short-lived link, and it is not part of the profile. A therapist can withdraw the request from the dashboard, and can ask us to delete the file at any time at hello@massagehub.uk.
